MERSA Media Institute is a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering media literacy, civil dialogue, and social cohesion among Ethiopian youth through innovative projects and events.

Position Summary:

The Disc Jockey (DJ) will be an integral part of the “Social Fabric” event, a celebration of unity through diversity utilizing fashion, arts, and creative expressions. The selected DJ will bring expertise in curating music, creating an engaging atmosphere, and aligning the musical ambiance with the event’s themes of social cohesion, information literacy, and civil dialogue.

Major duties and responsibilities:

  • Provide DJ services at the “Social Fabric” event.
  • Create and curate a playlist that complements fashion shows, visual arts presentations, and dance performances.
  • Manage sound systems and ensure seamless sound transitions during the event.
  • Contribute to creating a vibrant and cohesive ambiance in line with the project’s objectives.

Experience and qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a DJ, especially in fashion shows or artistic events.
  • Proficiency in curating music that enhances creative presentations and fosters an engaging environment.
  • Ability to provide and manage personal sound system equipment.
  • Understanding of the project’s objectives and the capability to align musical choices with these goals.

Desired:

  • Experience collaborating with diverse artistic events.
  • Knowledge of the latest music trends and ability to cater to diverse audience preferences.
