Henok is an Ethiopian-American journalist and media educator with 15-years of experience in international reporting, media development, creating and managing youth broadcasts. He is the Executive Director of MERSA Media Institute which he founded in Washington, DC to help create vibrant, responsible and independent press, professional unions and education centers through research, capacity building and institutional support in Africa.

John Dinges, is a journalist and author who has reported widely in Latin America. He was awarded the Maria Moors Cabot gold medal for excellence in reporting on Inter American relations. He is the Cabot Professor of International Journalism Emeritus of Columbia University where he headed the radio broadcast and international reporting workshops since 1996. He served as managing editor and international editor of National Public Radio News, where he was named in two DuPont-Columbia broadcasting awards (gold and silver batons).
Senior media law policy fellow
Solomon Goshu. is a senior media law policy fellow at MERSA Media Institute, and works as Public Policy Advisor at the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES). He is also the Chair of the Media Law Working Group, a group tasked to review the media legislations in the country under the supervision of the Law and Justice Affairs Advisory Council of the Attorney General Office. Until recently, he was a Senior Editor at the Ethiopian Reporter, one of the leading private newspapers in Ethiopia. He has more than 8 year of experience in journalism and is known for his in-depth feature articles on domestic and regional political and legal affairs. He has written extensively on issues related to media.
